Jeffrey R. Dugas, MAI, SGA, has been active in commercial real estate since the mid 1980’s, after graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in Communication and minor in Business. He started his career with Jerome Silverstein, MAI in 1986, then spent four years with Heberger & Associates before forming Wellspeak Dugas & Kane, LLC in 1995. After 27 years of a successful partnership, he formed Leisure Appraisal to better align with his personal interests and work history.

After working for the first ten years in the general commercial appraisal field, he developed a concentration on golf, marinas, and recreational real estate. He is one of a select group of specialists invited into the prestigious Society of Golf Appraisers, a national membership of accomplished golf course consultants, and obtained the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

Mr. Dugas has taught several advanced real estate courses for the University of Connecticut and has spoken at various public forums including the International Association of Assessors, National Golf Club Owners Association and Club Managers Association. He has been quoted in many industry publications, and his appraisals have helped establish legal precedent.
